I have lived on the Central Coast of California for the past 25 years. During that time, I have enjoyed a career teaching in the local High Schools. Several years ago I was asked to take my 4 year-old god-son to the swimming pool for the afternoon, with the explicit instructions that if he went off the diving board for the first time I was to get a picture of it.

He went off the board and I tried to get his picture. I didn't know about shutter delay, and so I got a beautiful picture of a splash instead of a little boy in the air.
My frustration with this result led me to a camera store where I puchased my first DSLR. Since this was a fairly expensive camera, I decided that I needed to learn how to use it - and my love of photography was born. Since then I have taken a variety of workshops, some through the Unniversity of California, Santa Cruz Extension Program, some with private instructors and, in the fall of 2009, I graduated from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Mt.
My greatest area of interest in photography is wildlife followed closely by sports/action. I love the surprises the the animals present to us and the often unexpected result that comes while shooting an athlete.
